Student Case Study
This student case study was conducted and created during my Teacher Assisting semester. I chose a student who from the very first day of school was an active presence in the classroom. I took observational notes for a month and a half and created a PowerPoint to show my results. During this study, I used three different strategies that I, and my CT felt would be helpful in created the best learning space for the student. Two of the strategies involved moving their seat. One strategy is an ongoing one that involves a teacher student morning meeting. The last one is a low key way to keep the student on track by holding up three fingers. Each finger is a possible dojo point the student can earn. If they get to zero fingers then they receive a check. If they get 3 checks in a day they receive detention. The entire process and results are explained in the attached PowerPoint.
